Kuripe Palo Sangre Aya: bloodwood, blue stone and crystal
A hand-carved Kuripe made of deep red Palo Sangre wood, decorated with the Aya motif, a blue stone and a crystal accent. One of a kind, and a striking piece for any collection.
Palo Sangre
Dense, deep red-brown bloodwood with a naturally warm grain. Every piece is hand-finished, so the colour and pattern of each Kuripe differ slightly.
Aya
The carved Aya motif refers to the Amazonian vine and its place in the traditions of the region. It is a decorative and symbolic element of this piece.
Blue stone & crystal
A blue stone inlay and a crystal accent give the blowpipe its character and make it a distinctive collector's piece.

What is a Kuripe?
A Kuripe is a traditional self-applicator: a small V-shaped blowpipe from the Amazon, carved from wood, bone or bamboo. It is an essential companion of Hapé (Rapé) in the traditions of many native peoples. Read more in our article about the Kuripe, or take a look at the longer Tepi.
Handmade, so no two are identical
Each Kuripe is shaped and polished by hand. Slight differences in grain, shade and detail make every piece unique.
